The American population, as a society, is already walking the line of obesity. This is because the low carb diets that are the only type of diet that leads to a decreased excretion of insulin which will result in the body's usage of the fat as the energy source. With that in mind, here are some low-carb recipes that can help you start out your new diet.

Ranch Chicken

For this recipe you will need the following: Half package of dry Ranch dressing by Hidden Valley, 3 chicken breasts (deboned), 3 slices of bacon and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. To start off, lay out the chicken breasts on a casserole dish. After that, sprinkle some dry Ranch dressing on top of the chicken. Then lay a strip across each chicken and and top it off with some cheddar cheese shreds. Cover the whole casserole dish with foil. Then, bake the chicken at 350 degrees Celsius for a total of 45 minutes. After baking, take off the foil that was covering the chicken breasts the whole time and bake it openly for an added 15 minutes. This recipe is good for two servings and will give you only a total of 7.5 carbohydrates for the two servings.

BBQ Pork Tenderloin

For this you will need a 3/4 pound of pork tenderloin, some sweet barbecue sauce, 1 cup of tomato sauce, 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of liquid smoke and 3 packets of Splenda sweetener. To begin, cut the pork into 3/4” slices and pound them until they become thin. Next, heat some oil in the pan and sprinkle it with some salt and pepper as well as some Old Bay seasoning. Saute the pork in the oil for a few minutes until it cooks. Take the strips out of the pan and top them with BBQ sauce. For the sauce, combine all of the ingredients (tomato sauce, vinegar, Splenda and liquid smoke) and cook it over a low fire for about 10 minutes. This recipe is good for two servings and totals to about 4.8 carbohydrate, 230 calories. The cup of sauce totals to about 23 carbohydrates and 105 calories.
